""The one thing that had us more excited than the debut of The Hunger Games movie was the debut of The Hunger Games branded nail polish. But Lionsgate, which is producing the film, killed the deal earlier this month, and now it’s being sued for $10 million by the company that was supposed to make the polish.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, beauty company American International Industries landed the deal late last month and had already purchased several millions of dollars worth of materials to make the shades, which were named after characters and settings in the movie trilogy.

But Lionsgate spokespeople told the press mid-November that the deal wasn’t happening, which caught AII by surprise. After what we imagine was some angry correspondance between AII’s legal team and the attorneys at Lionsgate, the movie studio shut the deal down. And AII said in court papers that Lionsgate isn’t allowed to do that.

“However, the contract does not permit Lionsgate to unilaterally terminate,” argues the complaint, a copy of which was obtained by THR. “Lionsgate attempted to justify its actions by claiming that American had supposedly ‘leaked’ information about the contract to the press. The claim was and is completely untrue–American did not ‘leak’ any information, and so informed Lionsgate immediately.”

Lionsgate hasn’t commented on the case, but even if AII wins its $10 million in court, that doesn’t mean the nail polish line is coming back. We guess the odds just weren’t in our favor. You’ll find the shades that never were, below.""
