""The one thing that had us more excited than the debut of The Hunger Games movie was the debut of The Hunger Games branded nail polish. But Lionsgate, which is producing the film, killed the deal earlier this month, and now it’s being sued for $10 million by the company that was supposed to make the polish.

RELATED: WATCH: The Full Hunger Games Trailer Gives Us Goosebumps!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, beauty company American International Industries landed the deal late last month and had already purchased several millions of dollars worth of materials to make the shades, which were named after characters and settings in the movie trilogy.

But Lionsgate spokespeople told the press mid-November that the deal wasn’t happening, which caught AII by surprise. After what we imagine was some angry correspondance between AII’s legal team and the attorneys at Lionsgate, the movie studio shut the deal down. And AII said in court papers that Lionsgate isn’t allowed to do that.

“However, the contract does not permit Lionsgate to unilaterally terminate,” argues the complaint, a copy of which was obtained by THR. “Lionsgate attempted to justify its actions by claiming that American had supposedly ‘leaked’ information about the contract to the press. The claim was and is completely untrue–American did not ‘leak’ any information, and so informed Lionsgate immediately.”

Lionsgate hasn’t commented on the case, but even if AII wins its $10 million in court, that doesn’t mean the nail polish line is coming back. We guess the odds just weren’t in our favor. You’ll find the shades that never were, below.""

" If you're as excited for The Hunger Games as we are, then you've no doubt seen the trailer and wish it was coming out, like, tomorrow.

Of course, it doesn't hit the big screen ‘til March, so in the meantime at least we can count on Elizabeth Banks for some hungry deets.

So, what exactly did the sometimes outspoken actress have to say?

RELATED: The Hunger Games Trailer Redux: Five Things We're Most Excited About!

First, from gutsy Jennifer Lawrence and yummy Liam Hemsworth to the friggin' amazing post-apocalyptic plot and the quirky Effie Trinket, there are plenty of reasons we want to see The Hunger Games when it hits theaters!

And in case you couldn't tell through her cotton-candy hair and seriously terrifying makeup, Elizabeth Banks plays the role of perky PR guru Effie, and she dished to Entertainment Weekly how she came up with her character's unusual voice.

Banks—never one to be overly mysterious about things—said quite clearly her Effie was to be "theatrical," with equal helpings of old movie star Rosalind Russell (Banks called her performance in Auntie Mame "just amazing") and Katharine Hepburn in The Philadelphia Story.

WATCH: New Hunger Games Trailer Is Here—Check It Out!

And just like in the books, Banks' character is in charge of drawing the names of a boy and a girl from District 12 to compete in the Hunger Games, a televised event in which only 1 out of 24 participants will survive.

We can just imagine Russell or Hepburn handling that task just fine in 2012, can't you?

Indeed, Banks offered a taste of what she calls "a little highfalutin" Effie Trinket in the trailer, but we can't wait to see more!

And if you really can't wait until March 23 to get in on this action, read the books, they're amazing. We promise.

Elisabeth Banks recently sat down to talk with Entertainment Weekly, about how to talk in the Effie voice. We all know that Katniss says the capitol voice makes a funny 's' sound , and that virtually everything sounds funny in it.

Let’s talk Hunger Games: Where did you come up with Effie’s voice?
It’s a combination of The Philadelphia Story and Rosalind Russell in Auntie Mame.
Really?
Rosalind Russell is just amazing. It’s one of my favorite performances ever. I wanted Effie to be really theatrical. I just wanted to make sure she didn’t sound too British. She needed to be a little highfalutin.
Which fans are more intense: A cappella fans or Hunger Games fans?
I would bet there’s a ton of crossover.
Would Effie Trinkett have been in an a cappella group?
Sure. There might be a cappella groups in the Capitol. That’s probably allowed. I think the Capitol wouldn’t find that too threatening.
But not in District 12, right?
They probably do a little barbershop in District 12. They need something to keep their spirits up.

Talk is from The Wrap that Lionsgate will merge with Summit, which brought us Twilight. Could you imagine two companies with "rival" films becoming one buisness, and how could this affect the Hunger Games?
Summit is fresh off the success of its second-to-last “Twilight” installment, which has already taken in $488 million worldwide in two weeks. And Lionsgate is ramping up for a new blockbuster series, “The Hunger Games,” after coming off a weak quarter with three movie flops in a row.

In her interview with Teen Hollywood, Madeline Carrol mentioned the Hunger Games.
TeenHollywood: Are you into “The Hunger Games” books?
Madeline: On my gosh, when I was filming “Popper” I got so into those books. I love those books.  I didn’t read all of the “Twilight” series but I read all of “The Hunger Games” in the course of about a month. I hope the movie does well. I’m very excited

An unknown acress named Raiko Bowman will be playing Peeta's mother, now as for Mr.Mellark there is no news on his casting. With Paula Malcomson and Phillip Troy Linger as Katniss's parents we hope to hear about the casting of Mr.Mellark soon.

I found this today, and I was just wow! The song is sad, and spoke truly to the heart. The voice singing it is sweet and clear. And it embodies the Hunger Games in full. I was amazed, simply amazed.

MTV Interview - Josh Hutcherson

MTV: What about the one that is on fire?
Hutcherson: The one that's on fire, I don't want to say anything about that yet, you'll have to wait for it. It's very cool, I promise you. It's very cool.
MTV: Have you been following any of the fan fervor surrounding the film?
Hutcherson: Obviously the fans are crazy about it, which I'm really excited for them to see it. But for me, I stay away from a lot of that stuff, just because I don't really look at it all that much. But I hear some things people are saying, and it's pretty cool. It's exciting to hear people are that interested in something you're doing, so it's a little nerve-racking, but I'm onboard. The fans for "The Hunger Games," they're die-hard. They're the best fans in the world so I'm really excited for them to see the movie.

Friendship Bracelets are easy to make hunger games related crafts. These are fun to wear, available, and commonly used. *Note: Directions below are for basic swirl design. To create one like in the image to the left you can look up different designs on the internet.

  1. Choose several strands of embroidery thread in your desired colors. Embroidery floss is thicker than normal sewing thread and comes in many different colors. You must have more than one color to create a striped effect. The more strands you choose, the wider the bracelet (and the more visible the pattern) will be.
  2. Measure and cut your first strand. Measure a length of thread slightly longer than the distance from your fingertip to your shoulder, then cut it.
  3. Use the cut strand to measure and cut the remaining strands. You need to have at least 3 strings to make this bracelet, but you can have as many as you want. 4 to 6 will make a really skinny bracelet; 8 to 10 will make a thick one.
    • Don’t feel obligated to make every strand a different color; using the same color multiple times will result in more (or thicker) stripes of that color depending on how you arrange them.
  4.  Pin the bracelet to your pants while you make it
Tie all the ends of the threads together in a square knot and fasten it to something. There are various ways to hold the bracelet in place while you're making it:
    • The most common method is to put a safety pin through the knotted end and then pin the bracelet to the leg of your pants (on your thigh) far enough away that, as the bracelet lengthens, it doesn’t start creeping up your torso.
    • Some people leave a little extra thread at the beginning to tie around a toe. Toes can be convenient holders as long as you are flexible enough to reach them.

  5. Spread the threads out so that, from left to right, the colors are in your desired order. To make the knotted end of your bracelet less bulky, try not to cross the threads over one another too much.
    • For additional flair, make several short braids in the bracelet before spreading the strands out to begin the pattern. Later, you can do the same thing at the opposite end to make the bracelet more interesting (not to mention easier to tie shut).
  6. Knot the far left thread (Strand 1) around the thread immediately to its right (Strand 2). Loop it over the front of Strand 2, then around the back, and, finally, up through the loop you’ve created. Pull the end to tighten Strand 1 into a knot. Repeat to make a second knot.
    • As you knot Strand 1, hold Strand 2 taught; this way, you will tie Strand 1 around Strand 2, not with it.

  7. Continue knotting Strand 1 twice around each thread to its immediate right, moving horizontally across the entire row of threads. Use the same method outlined in the previous step for each knot. Eventually, you will have made knots of this color across the entire row.
  8. Repeat Steps 6 and 7 using Strand 2, tying the new knots below the existing ones. When you’re done, you will have made a second row of colored knots beneath the first.

  9. Continue knotting rows of knots across the threads until the bracelet is the right length. To make sure it fits well, try it on your wrist, there should be enough extra room that you can fit about 2 fingers in next to your wrist, since the bracelet can shrink in water and become too tight (although it will stretch back out when dry).
    • Finish the end of the bracelet in braids if necessary. Be sure to make as many the second time as you did the first.
    • You can also add charms or beads to the end.
  10. Tie the loose ends of your strings into a second square knot. Make sure that the knot doesn’t take up any of the length you need to wear the bracelet.
  11. Trim any loose ends. Your bracelet is now ready to give to a good friend!
*Choose Hunger Games Related Color Themes
 Black/Gold WhiteBrown/Yellow/Red Light Blue/White/Grey

Summary

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

Reviews

"Collins has done that rare thing. She has written a sequel that improves upon the first book."
--The New York Times, Gabrielle Zevin

"Again, Collins’ crystalline, unadorned prose provides an open window to perfect pacing and electrifying world-building, but what’s even more remarkable is that aside from being tremendously action-packed sf thrillers, these books are also brimming with potent themes of morality, obedience, sacrifice, redemption, love, law, and, above all, survival. Honestly, this book only needs to be good enough to satisfy its legions of fans. Fortunately, it’s great. And if you were dying to find out what happens after the last book, get ready for pure torture awaiting the next."
--Booklist, STARRED REVIEW

"...doesn’t disappoint when it segues into the pulse-pounding action readers have come to expect. Characters from the previous volume reappear to good effect: Katniss’s stylist, Cinna, proves he’s about more than fashion; Haymitch becomes more dimensional. But the star remains Katniss, whose bravery, honesty and wry cynicism carry the narrative...Collins has also created an exquisitely tense romantic triangle for her heroine...by book’s end (and it’s a cliffhanger), readers will be picking sides—Peeta or Gale?”
--Publishers Weekly, STARRED REVIEW

"Stellar, imaginative writing."
--Los Angeles Times

"Beyond the expert world building, the acute social commentary and the large cast of fully realized characters, there’s action, intrigue, romance and some amount of hope in a story readers will find completely engrossing. Collins weaves in enough background for this novel to stand alone, but it will be a far richer experience for those who have read the first installment and come to love Katniss, Peeta, Haymitch and the rest of the desperate residents of this dystopia. A humdinger of a cliffhanger will leave readers clamoring for volume three."
--Kirkus Reviews, STARRED REVIEW

"...this sequel has enough action to please Hunger Games fans and leaves enough questions tantalizingly unanswered for readers to be desperate for the next installment."
--School Library Journal, STARRED REVIEW

"Collins ratchets up the tension in the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy. With a host of well-drawn new secondary characters and more lives on the line, this will keep readers of all ages up long past their bedtimes."
--Romantic Times Book Reviews, ****1/2 STARS
