Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh) has been cast as the son of Miles Dison for the upcoming 'Terminator' installment.
After fighting for his life against humans in “The Hunger Games,” Dayo Okeniyi is now ready to fight for his life against cyborgs in Paramount and Skydance’s “Terminator.”
Best known for his role as Thresh in Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games,” Okeniyi has been tapped to play Miles Dyson’s son in the latest installment in the “Terminator” franchise.
He joins Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and Jason Clarke, who had already signed on to the pic. Alan Taylor is directing.

Jennifer Lawrence posted some pictures of her wearing the Louisville Cardinals' team shirt to show her support for the team!
Jennifer Lawrence may be one of the most beloved celebs in Hollywood, but she's also a famous fan in her own right when March Madness rolls around.
The 23-year-old Oscar winner, who hails from Kentucky, was proud to cheer on the University of Louisville in the NCAA tournament, and even sent a photo of herself to the school where she's throwing up a Louisville "L" and wearing the school's signature gear, the Daily Caller reports.
Smiling from ear to ear, the American Hustle hottie sports a Cardinals T-shirt in the adorable pic, which was sent to the school to encourage team spirit, and no doubt, was an exciting moment for all.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire DVD sales have continued to soar! According to Variety Catching Fire continues to take the top spot in sales.

Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” hung onto the top spot on both national home video sales charts for a second consecutive week, while Universal Studios’ “Homefront” debuted at No. 2, selling just 17% as many units as the “Hunger Games” sequel on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks overall Blu-ray Disc and DVD combined sales, for the week ended March 16.
“Homefront,” with a cast that includes Jason Statham, James Franco, Kate Bosworth and Winona Ryder, bowed at No. 4 on Nielsen’s dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart, behind Walt Disney Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” at No. 2 and Warner’s “Gravity” at No. 3, both of which have been in stores for three weeks.
The comparison’s not really fair, though, as “Catching Fire” earned nearly $425 million in U.S. theaters, while “Homefront” — a drama about a former DEA agent who moves his family to a quiet town, only to do battle with a local drug lord —took in just $20.2 million.
On the First Alert chart, 20th Century Fox’s “12 Years a Slave,” this year’s Best Picture Oscar winner, dropped a notch to No. 3, while “Gravity” also slipped one position to No. 4. Rounding the top five: “Barbie: The Pearl Princess,” the latest entry in the Universal Studios-Mattel partnership’s successful direct-to-video “Barbie” franchise.

This 'American Hustle' deleted scene of Jennifer Lawrence lip syncing is absolutely hilarious!
The film tells the story of brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld, who along with his equally cunning and seductive British partner Sydney Prosser is forced to work for a wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso.

District 14 is a segment where we talk about things outside of the Hunger Games.

If you're looking for the next YA series to read, The Darkest Minds should be at the top of your list.

Summary: "When Ruby woke up on her tenth birthday, something about her had changed. Something alarming enough to make her parents lock her in the garage and call the police. Something that gets her sent to Thurmond, a brutal government "rehabilitation camp." She might have survived the mysterious disease that's killed most of America's children, but she and the others have emerged with something far worse: frightening abilities they cannot control.

Now sixteen, Ruby is one of the dangerous ones.

When the truth comes out, Ruby barely escapes Thurmond with her life. Now she's on the run, desperate to find the one safe haven left for kids like her-East River. She joins a group of kids who escaped their own camp. Liam, their brave leader, is falling hard for Ruby. But no matter how much she aches for him, Ruby can't risk getting close. Not after what happened to her parents.

When they arrive at East River, nothing is as it seems, least of all its mysterious leader. But there are other forces at work, people who will stop at nothing to use Ruby in their fight against the government. Ruby will be faced with a terrible choice, one that may mean giving up her only chance at a life worth living."

Opinion: This is by far one of the best dystopian books I have ever read. Ruby Daly, Liam Stewart, and Clancy Gray will keep you up reading for hours. I finished The Darkest Minds and the sequel Never Fade without stopping!

FlickeringMyth got a chance to talk to the Catching Fire team about the visual effects used to produce the movie. Read more HERE.

“I’d worked with Francis Lawrence a few years ago on I Am Legend [2007] and we had a productive, and entertaining relationship on that picture,” explains Janek Sirrs who won an Oscar for being a member of the visual effects team responsible for The Matrix (1999).  “Francis likes shooting photo storyboards and seems to enjoy [perhaps a little too much] having me embarrassingly play the part of the zombie, the monkey, and the frightened girl for him.  Our schedules didn’t really sync up immediately afterLegend and so I ended up drifting off into the Marvel universe for a couple of shows before our stars could align again.”  The duo was reunited for the cinematic adaptation of the futurist young adult series created by Suzanne Collins about survival games and a civilian revolt.  “My teenage girl years are a little bit behind at this point in my life so I can’t really claim to have been an avid reader of the books!   Obviously, the first Hunger Games [2012] movie was such a box office hit that it was impossible to not know something of the source material though.  When I started on the project, the script was still a work in progress, as is often the case these days.   However, the book was always going to be the template for the film so we could refer to that while we waited the screenplay to be polished, and made fit for general consumption.”

“One of the primary goals of Catching Fire [2013] was to expand upon the scope seen in the original movie, not just in terms of the visual effects, but also across every other department from production design to wardrobe,” explains Janek Sirrs. “That meant we weren’t slave to anything from The Hunger Games as such, and could start with a bit of a blank slate.  The only thing we really inherited was some of the designs, such as the Avenue of the Tributes, but even then we rebuilt and expanded the scale to make things visually more impressive.  Compared to Catching Fire, the original Hunger Games visual effects were more limited in terms of budget and schedule.  Within reason, you only get what you can afford to pay for, so with more funds available this time around we could create a ‘bigger’ picture.”  Sirrs notes, “Francis is a very visual director, probably as a result of his earlier music video experience; the key thing for him was having the visual effects, and the movie as a whole, visually tie in with the Katniss’ character.    The whole film is almost always shot from Katniss’ perspective so that the audience can see what she sees, and experience what she experiences.   That was always the mandate for how Francis wanted the visual effects shots to function.  It was also important to Francis that the shots were as naturalistic as possible, to tie in with the feel of the rest of the movie.  Some fantastic things do happen, but hopefully we conveyed them in a manner that was more plausible, rather than stylized or extreme.”

Thanks to Lionsgate the staff was able to receive  The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on DVD/Blu-ray and review the different packages.  All packages are rated out of five mockingjays.

Blue-ray + DVD + Digital HD Ultraviolet Copy - (TARGET EXCLUSIVE)

3.5/5

Overall: This was one of the top packages. The packaging was amazing, the extra featurettes on the bonus disk were pretty interesting to watch, and if you pre-ordered the target exclusive you received a free poster (my advanced copy did not include this, so unfortunately I cannot review that.)

Price - $22.99: The target exclusive is only three dollars more than the "standard" package, and the top notch packaging and bonus disk are definitely worth the extra dollars.

Packaging - 4.5/5 : The outside packaging was pretty standard. However, when you remove the outer paper packaging it revealed what looks like a book that stores the three disks in "pages". It's a pretty neat way to store your disks. I wouldn't mind having all of my movies in this type of packaging.

Disks - 3.5/5: Overall this package included three disks, a blue-ray disk, a standard DVD edition, and a DVD bonus disk.

Extra Footage - 4/5:  Includes an extra disc with 45 minutes of exclusive bonus content.
Disk 1 (blu-ray): Audio Commentary with Director Francis Lawrence and Producer Nina Jacobson, "Surviving the Game: Making Catching Fire" (only on Blu-ray), Deleted Scenes, and Divergent Sneak Peek.
Disk 2 (DVD):  Audio Commentary with Director Francis Lawrence and Producer Nina Jacobson, Deleted Scenes, and Divergent Sneak Peek.
Disk 3 (Bonus Disk): "The Alliance" Featurette,  "Friend or Foe" Feaurette, and "One Vision" Featurette
Bonus Add-ons - 2/5: The package included a target "e-ticket" for a digital copy on ultraviolet and itunes.

Two Movie Set (Catching Fire and The Hunger Games) - DVD + Digital (WALMART EXCLUSIVE)

3/5

Overall: This was a decent deal. For five dollars more than the standard version you get both movies. However, this only included the films and did not have any extra features. That knocked it down to a three.

Price - $24.99: On one hand this is only five dollars more than the standard version and you get two movies. However, it is only fair to point out that this does not include ANY of the special features. That does make it a bit pricy considering that the first movie is on Netflix. Plus, this does not include a Blu-ray version.

Packaging - 3/5: The outer packaging was lenticular, which is pretty cool to play with. However, the outer packaging is probably not something you will save and the rest was a standard DVD case which does not provide the special permanent storage that the Best Buy and Target exclusives do.

Blu-ray + Ultraviolet Copy (BEST BUY EXCLUSIVE)

4/5

Overall: First of all, the steel book packaging is amazing. Second, if you have a blue-ray player this is probably the best package for you. I would definitely recommend this package as one of the top.

Price - $22.99: The price is only three dollars more than the standard package. It's the same price as the Target exclusive, and while it does not include the target featurettes, you practially get a free ticket to see Divergent.

Packaging - 5/5: This came in steel book packaging, which is pretty amazing. The silver toned image of Katniss and Peeta on the cover was gorgeous and really set this package apart from the others.

Extra Footage - 3/5:
Audio Commentary with Director Francis Lawrence and Producer Nina Jacobson, "Surviving the Game: Making Catching Fire" (only on Blu-ray), Deleted Scenes, and Divergent Sneak Peek.
Bonus Add-ons - 5/5: This is what really made this package. You get a $8.00 credit to Fandango to see Divergent. At my local movie theatre a ticket is $7-10.00, so I am essentially getting a free ticket to see Divergent. You also get a digital copy on ultraviolet and itunes.

Blue-ray + DVD + Digital HD Ultraviolet Copy (Amazon)

2.5/5

Overall: This is essentially the standard package. There are no real extras or specialties going on other than the making-of documentary, which wasn't too bad. The reason this package received two out of five was mainly because you could spend an extra dollar or two and get a much better deal.

Price - $19.99: While one of the cheapest deals, this is expensive considering that for an extra dollar or two you could get the Target or Walmart exclusive.

Packaging - 2/5: It comes in your standard blu-ray disk packaging.

Extra Footage - 3/5:
Audio Commentary with Director Francis Lawrence and Producer Nina Jacobson, "Surviving the Game: Making Catching Fire" (only on Blu-ray), Deleted Scenes, and Divergent Sneak Peek. + 9 Part Making-Of Documentary

Bonus Add-ons - 2/5: This package included a digital copy on ultraviolet and itunes.

DVD + Ultraviolet (Amazon)

2.5/5

Overall: This is essentially the same standard package as above, but without the blu-ray. At $15.99 it is a pretty decent deal if you only want the DVD.

Price - $15.99: I have to say that the price is pretty good if you just want the DVD. Fifteen dollars is hard to beat.

Packaging - 2.5/5: Standard DVD packaging.

Extra Footage - 2/5:
Filmmaker commentary, deleted scenes, and Divergent sneak peek.
Bonus Add-ons - 2/5: This package comes with a digital copy on ultraviolet and itunes.
